A Visit To Williams-Sonoma Home
THE WORLDLY INFLUENCE OF BOHEMIAN LUXURY
This past week the Corinne Gail Interior Design team hit the road heading southbound with Portland in our sights. Our sister city, just a hop, skip and a jump from Seattle, is host to the Pacific Northwest's only Williams-Sonoma Home furnishings store and their 2015 Lifestyle Collections.
After the long haul, we were rewarded with the opportunity to see, touch and experience the new collections up close and personal. For 2015, Williams-Sonoma Home focused on three distinctive design themes - Bohemian Luxury, New Traditional, and Beach Chic. Although all three blend unique elements, textures, and patterns, the collections are ultimately connected by the desire for comfort and beauty in one's home.
“Creative color combinations, distinctly luxurious materials and a fearless use of prints and patterns create a free-spirited space for letting imaginations run wild.” Influenced by Marrakesh, Bohemian Luxury is defined by generous details, layers of texture, rich color, and an intriguing pattern play of hand printed silks and animal hides.
“Classic forms get updated style from bold splashes of deep coral, playful patterned accents and gleaming touches of gold, brass and copper that add warmth and glamor to any room.”
Harnessing the talents of artisans world-wide to create bamboo needlepoint, hand knotted rugs, and fine Italian linen, New Traditional resonates with modern classical motifs, patterned mosaics, and a mixing of cool marble and the warmth of brass.
“Natural materials and light, neutral colors anchored by contemporary, streamlined shapes create a fresh space that is breezy and bold.”
This global lifestyle mixes neutrals, nickle and leather, turquoise, tortoise shell, art glass, fine bone china, flat weave rugs, and tropical leaves, all to capture a beachy, island inspired aesthetic exclusive to Williams Sonoma Home.
